This club formed (and the course opened) in 1927. Some maintain that the legendary architect Alister McKenzie may have, as the club puts it, "run an eye over the site" in 1927 after finishing his work at Royal Melbourne and playing a part in the layout of nearby Titirangi GC. In 2003, architect Chris Pitman did some redesign work intended to enhance/restore this relatively compact layout.

The shorter first nine features the par-3, 8th hole, which plays over 176 meters to a a narrow green with bunkers on the left and water on the right. The longer second nine has O.B. on six holes, as well as another challenging par-3 at 16.

Visitors are welcome on various days at various times; advance booking is required. The standard, non-affiliated rate is NZ$87, although the club has various season specials. Members of other clubs with reciprocal arrangements are also welcome.
