The club formed in 1897 as the 12-hole "Marrickville Golf Club," although this site in Pagewood dates to 1947, when they took over the New Metropolitan Golf Club. This is a private club; outside access is restricted to members of clubs with reciprocal arrangements.
The course is undergoing a major redesign by architect Michael Clayton, working with 2006 U.S. Open champion Geoff Ogilvy.
