The original 9-hole course was designed in 1892 by Henry Fowler who is credited with designing The Berkshire (Red), Walton Heath (Old), Saunton and Cruden Bay. Mr Fowler also designed the original 18 hole Pickeridge course in 1925. Three holes were added in 1969, then the course was reconfigured for 18 holes in 2003. The course offers views east across Sedgemoor to Glastonbury Tor and the Mendips, west to the Brendons and Exmoor, and north to the Vale of Taunton and the Quantocks.
