Spanish Bay is a rugged, ocean-side links-style course that opened in 1987 with a co-design between architect Robert Trent Jones Jr., eight-time major champion Tom Watson, and former USGA president Sandy Tatum. Environmental considerations were taken into account during construction of the course; designated "environmentally sensitive" areas are marked with free drop-zones to help preserve the native fauna, birds, and other wildlife.
LaSB is part of the Pebble Beach resort; single-play and package rates vary by season and are posted on the course's web site. Reservations are also available via toll-free telephone at 800.654.9300.

Great, but to much watering to pass for a links course.

I love this course. It is probably one of my favorite courses on the West Coast. It is difficult but the scenery and the setting can't be beaten. I have not played Pebble Beach so can't compare that course. The bag piper and having a cocktail at dusk also enhances this course to me.

Beautiful scenery. Although I will play it again at some point, I do think the greens can be a bit extreme, especially when the wind blows.

Fabulous course. Greens were true. Only a few holes are difficult to navigate with the Skycaddie. I am sure having a caddie would have taken 3 strokes off my round. Overall worth the money.
