"Craig Wood Golf Course is a par 72; 6,554 yard municipal course owned and operated by the Town of North Elba.
The front nine at the Craig Wood course is much more open than the back nine with each hole having its own distinct personality. It has been said that a good golf course is often judged by the number of memorable holes, and this course has its share. The eighteenth calls for a precise drive over a large ravine guarded by rough and trees on the left and a road marked by out-of-bounds on the right. It is a fitting finish to a memorable course named for a terrific champion." - www.craigwoodgolfclub.com

The course was in excellent shape, although some of the greens were still recovering from winter damage. The layout is great with some real demanding and long par 4's. It is very scenic with views of the Adirondak mountains and nearby Lake Placid. If playing in Lake Placid I would recommend this course over the other Lake Placid courses based upon overall layout and value.
