Owned and operated by Crystal Springs Resort, Black Bear opened in July of 1996 and has enjoyed tremendous popularity ever since, rated "very good to excellent" by Zagat.
Black Bear serves as the national headquarters of the David Glenz Golf Academy and boasts a learning center that consists of 100,000 square feet of natural grass teeing area, multi-tiered synthetic launching stations, and a vast array of target greens and bunkers. The academy building features classrooms for swing analysis and enclosed teachings bays.

Great course when its in good shape. Last time I played, the greens were non existent on some holes, just aerated mud. They must have got slammed from the past storms. I'm sure it will bounce back. Great woodsy layout and challenging but not too much so. Great bar cart service. Great price, and its practically in my back yard, only problem is they have a LOT of outings and its tough to get tee times.

Played late November, Course was exceptional, leaves blown off course, greens and bunkers in good shape. I loved the large greens at this course. I enjoyed the design.
