This course opened in 1962 with a design by architect Donald Sechrest and is named after two-time Masters Tournament winner Horton Smith, who was born in Springfield. Driving range could use some attention; greens were really small and slow compared to other courses in the area. The value seemed to be high based on the condition. Not being mean, but the course was in good shape but didn't match the price.
