This mature course opened with nine holes in 1928 and a design by Willie Ogg of Carnoustie, Scotland. However, the late and notable American architect Geoffrey Cornish made some modifications during the late 1980s. Then about ten years later, Massachusetts-based architect Rowland Armacost designed the second nine, which opened in 2002 — just before Armacost died.
