Formerly known as Spokane Country Club, Kalispel was founded in 1898, then in 1910 they moved to this attractive, heavily-wooded site along the Little Spokane River. At least part of the course was designed by four-time major champion Jim Barnes. The club holds a very important place in golf history; in 1946 they hosted the inaugural U.S. Women's Open, won by the late and legendary Patty Berg.

Other than the bunkers needing some rework, this course plays extremely well. Fairways are tight and roll well, greens are superb and the layout is fair but punishing for missed shots. As a long time member, I never get tired of playing here.
