This is a highly-regarded seaside links course that opened in 1949 with a design by Australian Open champion Alex Russell, a one-time deisng partner of Alister Mackenzie. The course is usually ranked among the top 100 in the world outside the United States and has hosted the New Zealand Open 12 times.
