Golf has been played since 1908 at this site in the foothills of the Pennines.

Visitors are welcome except on most Wednesdays and Saturdays, so advance booking is essential. The peak-season (April-October) visitor walking rates are £30/round or £40/day on weekdays, then £35/round or £45/day on weekends. Junior, twilight, winter, and guest-of-member discounts are offered. Societies are also welcome with prior arrangement; a number of packages are listed on the club's web site.
