This course is notable for having hosted the 1989 PGA Championship (Payne Stewart), the 1992 U.S. Women's Amateur Championship (Vicki Goetze) and six Senior Tour events. This course allowed public play when the Kemper Insurance Company opened it in 1979, but it is now owned by Crown Golf Properties; public golfers are no longer welcome except as guests of a member.
