La Peñaza opened in 1973 with a design by the English architect Frederick W. Hawtree, although Spanish golf hero José María Olazábal oversaw a redesign of the greens in 1999. Visitors are welcome, but advance booking is highly recommended. The standard visitor rates are €70 on weekdays, €120 on weekends and holidays (carts are €30).
