This very picturesque seaside links course is located north of the village of Stonehaven, adjacent to the historic ruins of the Chapel of St. Mary and St. Nathalan (a.k.a. "Cowie Chapel") on Scotland's northeast coast, south of Aberdeen. Although the course opened in 1889, five-time Open champion James Braid and Archie Simpson designed some minor modifications to the course sometime after 1906. One 'modification' to this course occurred in August of 1940, when the German Luftwaffe dropped a bomb that landed between the first and second fairways. The resulting crater is still known as "Hitler's Bunker."
Visitors are welcome here; the standard weekday walking rates are £30/round and £35/day, while on weekends the rates are £35 and £40.

Excellent short course. Challenging holes particularly in the wind but views to die for. Sunny day, so was really excellent. Had a little wow factor when turning into the club from the road. Looking forward to playing it again.

Short course with spectacular views and some very challenging par 3's especially if it has a strong wing blowing. A course you'll remember

Short course, a reasonable test.
Unfortunately it has a natural bottle neck around holes 13, 14 & 15 where many groups will end up congregating.
17th is a bit mickey mouse with no fairway of note, but a strong par 3 18th gets it back on track.
Very visitor friendly and views of the coastline North and South are spectacular
