This course dates to 1898, and was redesigned by five-time Open champion J.H. Taylor in 1905. But in 1925, the Alister Mackenzie was brought in to expand and modify the layout, which is largely unchanged today.
Visitors are welcome; the summer walking rates are £28 on weekdays, £37 on weekends. Junior, twilight, guest-of-member, and winter rates are available, as are memberships. Societies are also welcome with prior arrangement.
