This is the newest private club in the Perth area, having opened in 1984 and located about 20 minutes north of Perth's CBD.

The course itself was developed out of 70 hectares of bushland and includes many native paperbark trees as part of a design by the late Brian Crafter. The Club is one of only a few metropolitan courses that owns its land. Apart from the golf course proper, the Club has approximately 30 hectares available for future development.

The signature hole on the course is the par 3 16th, across a lake to a slightly elevated green. The course plays at varying degrees of difficulty depending upon the direction of the prevailing wind; on days when the wind is from the west, three of the par-5s play directly into the wind.

The club has hosted three WA State Seniors Championships, a State Junior Championship, and the 2005 State Amateur Championship. A strong junior golf program is available including clinics, competitions and a peewee program.

Lakelands Country Club is membership based (currently in the vicinity of 1000 members) with limited public access. Visitors and corporate groups are welcome with prior arrangement.
