This course opened in 1902 with nine holes, but in 1913, five-time Open champion James Braid redesigned the course to a full 18 holes, with some greens having been designed by Harry S. Colt. Modern-day architect Donald Steel redesigned seven holes (including USGA-spec greens) during the 1990s.
Visitors and societies are quite welcome here, but should book in advance. Walking rates are £20 weekdays and £27 weekends. Hole measurements on this scorecard are in yards.
