National Pines Golf Club defines the term "player's club," as participants in the 2007 and 2008 Canadian Tour Championship and the 1995 Ontario Amateur can attest. Craftily routed through thick stands of pines, the 7,000-yard Thomas McBroom layout strategically emerges into meadowlands on occasion. Ranked third in the country in Golf Digest's ranking of best new courses in Canada when it opened in 1992, National Pines is just 45 minutes from downtown Toronto.
