This 6,687-yard course was originally designed by club members in 1898, although Harry S. Colt and James Braid contributed design changes during the early 20th century. Interestingly, the course has consecutive par-5s at 3 and 4.

Gosforth Park and its nature reserve surround the course, so deer and other wildlife can be seen regularly.

The standard visitor walking rate is £50/round during the summer and £35/round during the winter. Societies are also welcome with prior arrangement.
