This half-parkland, half-moorland-style course opened in 1891 with nine holes designed by Old Tom Morris, while Ted Ray designed the second nine that opened in 1906. Some redesign work was overseen by Peter Alliss and Dave Thomas in 1972, while a new clubhouse opened in 2001. Located on a hill above Mirfield, the course offers some nice views of the surrounding West Yorkshire countryside.
Societies and visitors are welcome; visitor weekday walking rates are £25/round and £33/day. Unaccompanied visitors are permitted on weekends after 2:00 p.m. at a rate of £22.50.
