The notable Willie Park, Jr. designed this course when it opened in 1901, although J.H. Taylor oversaw some changes to the bunkers in 1912. This club has hosted a number of important English championships over the decades, including the English Amateur Championship four times and the Brabazon Trophy four times.

Tremendous golf course. The greens were so true and a joy to putt on. Practice facilities are excellent also. Overall a great experience.

Stunning layout in acres of space - greens had been given summer maintenance a couple of weeks before we played so weren't great but imagine they could be really tricky if fast! You need to be really on your game to play near handicap as offline means heather or trouble or both.

Tough track, fantastic all round, great clubhouse, stunning views, every hole poses a challenge. If you're serious about golf you must play this course, I think it's ranked 7th in England.
