Formerly known as Subang National Golf Club, this private 36-hole facility was the brainchild of Malaysia's first Prime Minister, YAM Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra Alhaj, through an act of Parliment in 1968. Subang's biggest success was the staging of the Benson & Hedges Malaysian Open (1983 and 1987), which is part of the Australasian Tour.
The Putra Course is considered the championship layout and was co-designed between a Japanese architect and Yorkshire-born Tom Verity. The Kelana Course opened in 1986 with a design by the California firm of Bradford, Benz & Poellect on 120 acres of land. They also have an interesting multi-tiered, 42-bay practice range where each stall has actual turf. Hole measurements are in meters.
This is a private club, restricted to members and their invited guests only. The club's mailing address is:
PO Box 151
