Kokanee Springs Resort is one of Canada's highest-profile 18-hole courses and features views of the Kokanee Glacier in the picturesque Kootenay region. It opened in 1968 and was designed by Norman Woods, an architect who apprenticed under the legendary Stanley Thompson. The web site quotes Woods as saying, "The entire area looked as though it was nothing but bush, water and rocks... with a towering mountain running into it, my choices were certainly restricted. I was sure the mountain was not going to move, so it was up to me to fit the course in around it."
The walking rate here is C$79.
