It is rare enough to find a Jack Nicklaus-designed course that is open to the public, but the Town of Breckenridge is the only municipality in the world to own a 27-hole Nicklaus-design. The course opened for play in 1985 with eighteen holes (Bear 9 and Beaver 9), and then Nicklaus returned to design the Elk 9, which opened in the summer of 2001 and features more elevation changes than either the Bear or Beaver nines.
The 18-hole walking rate is $109 during the peak season (June 17-September 11), and $62 during the shoulder-seasons.

Breck was awesome! The course was in great shape for mid June and the mountain views never get old.

The season is short but the 27 holes are super. Highly recommended for July thru Sept. A good walking course if you're strong and can handle the altitude.

Awesome scenery. Greens very slow on Elk course much faster on Beaver course. Bear course the least elevation and least amount of scenery. Starter and bag attendants friendly and awesome service.
