The Woodlands is one of those exceedingly rare Donald Ross designs (ca. 1930) that is actually open to the public. The Hampton River winds through the course, bringing water into play on 11 of the holes. The short yardage (5,491 yards, par-69) can be deceiving; Ross calls upon good shot-making here.
