Located in Elizabeth Township, just a short drive from downtown Pittsburgh, Youghiogheny Country Club dates to 1911 and is named after the nearby river of the same name. (Youghiogheny is an Algonquin word meaning "a stream flowing in a contrary direction.")
The first nine holes were completed in 1913, while Scottish pro and architect Willie Park, Jr. designed the second nine, which debuted in 1922.
