This "seaside" links course overlooking Lake Sakakawea catapulted North Dakota into national golf prominence; it has been part of Golf Digest's top 100 public access courses almost since it opened in 1995, and is widely considered the top course in the state. The high regard for this course also may have led to the new links design at nearby Eagle Ridge GC. Suffice to say, golf in North Dakota has taken a serious turn in the last several years. No water is in play, but architect Stephen Kay made sure that 82 bunkers are.
